About the Institute
                                    Institute of Genetics and Hospital for Genetic Diseases is a premier institute
									of Osmania University, established in 1978 by generous funding from University
									Grants Commission, Ministry of Education, Government of India; Department of
									Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of
									India; Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology,
									Government of India and Andhra Pradesh State Government.
									It is a unique institute that is offering excellent services, in the areas of
									diagnosis, management and counseling of Genetic Diseases, since 4+ decades.
									The Institute functions through four pillars that include Service, Training,
									Research and Outreach in order to achieve a holistic management of the genetic

Mission
The mission of the institute is to reduce morbidity and mortality caused by genetic diseases and to mitigate the burden of genetic diseases.
