Dr. Vijaya Lakshmi is an Associate Professor with a thrust in understanding molecular signaling mechanisms involved in cancer and cardiovascular disorders and novel nutritional intervention using nanotechnology and had received M.Sc and Ph.D degrees from Osmania University. She had executed her doctoral work at National Institute of Nutrition with specific focus on biochemical mechanism involved in cancer therapy and the role of vitamins in modifying these chemotherapeutic effects in intestinal epithelial cells. Later, she took post doctoral training at State University of New York, Buffalo and Blood Research Centre, Milwaukee, USA. During this period, she did extensive research on neuronal signaling mechanisms involved in diabetes and multiple sclerosis. She had completed four projects as Principal Investigator with the financial support from various scientific funding agencies of Government of India. She has more than 14 years of teaching experience and 18 years of post doctoral research experience. She is actively involved in various academic and administrative duties.
